DeSite Potrable Vibratory Screeners
As the cost of topsoil, sand, compost, gravel and rock increase, both contractors and property owners are looking for ways to cut material costs and earn money.
Most everyone knows what a vibratory screener is and what it does. What most people do not know is how inexpensive it can be now to own one. In the past a low cost screener was a big old worn out conventional screener or some backyard built machine. Either way, in most cases the parts bills and the time spent repairing out-weighed the benefit of owning a screener.
DeSite has changed all that with our SLG Portable Vibratory Screener systems. We manufacture and sell three industrial grade models designed to be used with compact bucket tractors, skid steers, compact loaders, backhoes, wheel loaders and excavators. We offer screening independence at the best price of anything like it on the market today.
• SLG-68V $4, 200.00 CDN
25 to 30hp bucket tractors / Mini Excavators
Designed for use with mini and compact excavators, compact bucket tractors and smaller skidstters
• SLG-78VF-II $6, 700.00CDN
30 to 50hp bucket tractors / skid steers / compact wheel loaders / excavators
Designed for machines with buckets up to 78 inches in width
• SLG-108VFRB $14, 250.00CDN
50 to 150hp bucket tractors / skid steers / backhoes / wheel loaders / excavators
Designed for machines with buckets up to 108 inches in width
Choosing the right model of DeSite Vibratory Screener to suit the size and type of machine feeding the screener is very important to getting maximum efficiency and production.
DeSite SLG Vibratory Screening Machines are different from all other screening machines on the market. Conventional screener designs use belts, pulleys, bearings, shafts, and gas and diesel engines that require maintenance and repair. All these moving parts working in the dirt and dust sustain extra wear. They require more maintenance and repairs, resulting in a higher operating cost. DeSite has eliminated all these moving parts that drive up the initial purchase price and repair costs down the line.
Screen Production
Everyone asks the magic question “How much can I screen each hour”. This is a loaded question that has many variables. What is the mesh size? What type of material is being screened? What is the moisture content? What type of machine and bucket size does the machine have that is feeding the screener? As you can see it is difficult to give to give an accurate answer but historically the SLG 60V can screen 10 to 15 yards each hour. The SLG-78VF-II can screen 15 to 30 yards each hour and the SLG-108VFRB can produce 30 to 60 yards each hour.
Available Mesh Sizes
We offer a wide variety of mesh sizes for our screening machines from 1/8 inch to 4 inches. We offer both square pattern and elongated pattern mesh.
Square pattern mesh will produce a more accurate sizing, while the elongated mesh is designed to handle material with higher moisture content. It is important to note that the size of the finished product going through the mesh will be smaller than the mesh opening size. Listed below we be the mesh sizes that we offer and the product size that it will produce.
Mesh Size Pattern Material Size
5/32’ x 5/32” square 1/16”
1/4" x 1/4" square 1/8”
3/8” x 3/8” square 1/4"
1/2" x 1/2" square 3/8”
1” x 1” square 3/4"
2” x 2” square 1-1/2”
4” x 4” square 3”
1/4" x 4” elongated 1/8” x 3/16”
3/8” x 4” elongated 1/4” x 5/16”
1/2” x 4” elongated 3/8” x 7/16”
3/4" x 4” elongated 1/2” x 9/16”

DeSite SLG screeners can make:
Topsoil Compost Top Dressing Fertilizer Mortar Sand Beach Sand Utility Bedding Winter Sand Pea Gravel Stone Top Course Rock Gravel Septic Stone French Drain Stone Landscape Mulch Beauty Bark Weed Barrier Base Coarse Road Rock Erosion Control Rock Perk Stone
Our screeners are basically maintenance free. Our DeSite SLG designs have features that no other screen manufactures offer.
The screen deck of DeSite screeners pivot on C springs, backed up by leaf or coil springs.
We have designed our C springs to be the weak link in the chain to let the operator know when the screener is being used too aggressively. Replacing a C spring will take about 15 minutes.
Our SLG 68V and 78VF-II do not require any grease or maintenance whatsoever. The SLG 108VFRB has 4 pivot points that do require grease maintenance.
All of our machines require nothing larger than a 3500 watt (3.5kw) 110 volt 20 amp power to operate.
